Center Parcs help!

Booked to go to Center Parcs at the end of the week.

Husband is now ill, I'm assuming Covid we had one test in the back of cupboard which has a slightly pink line, so guessing DS and I will have it by the end of the week (judging by previous experience)Confused

What are the chances of me being able to change my booking or what type of refund would I get if any?

Haven't been away in years and this was saved for, I know it's not a huge deal but feeling pretty sad for DS.

As there are no covid restrictions/requirements to isolate/test, I dont think CP would refund or change your booking unfortunately.

Your husband may feel better come the weekend, and you and your DS may not get it at all.

Fingers crossed for your break to go ahead.

Would you be wanting to change it if it was just a cold he had? Is this about you feeling unwell or being worried about spreading Covid? If the former, it might not be so bad, symptom-wise.

Being mildly sick when you go on holiday is just tough luck I’m afraid. Unless the booking can be moved on request (all you can do is ask) you’ll just have to either go or lose the money. If you have travel insurance it might cover it but prob unlikely for a cold type illness.

As above, CP won’t care if you have Covid, no rules any more.

I hope you don't catch it/get ill. It's such a tiring "holiday" so not much resting, not fun if you are all feeling poorly. Did you pay for the booking insurance? Although I'm not actually sure what that covers.

Thanks for the replies.

As awful as it sounds I don't think anyone is preventing covid anymore so it's not necessarily that, it's more that at present he's not feeling very well. As in bed Ill, unusual for him too usually would keep going that's why I mentioned the test.

Guess we'll just have to see how it goes if it's unlikely to be refunded or rebooked.

I booked it last minute as it is, should have waited another week!!

Thanks

Its irrelevant then, whether its covid or not. He sounds too ill to travel but I doubt a doctor will issue anything just for a virus/cold to enable you to claim on insurance or anything, plus how much is your excess?

AndiOliversGlasses · 14/05/2024 19:41

Well the first step is contact CP and ask them to explain their terms and conditions, if you aren’t clear on them from the booking confirmation you were sent.

Zippedydoodahday · 14/05/2024 19:43

Do you have travel insurance? E.g. on a bank account. If he's too unwell to travel you may be able to claim.

Flower35214 · 14/05/2024 19:49

Do you mean Friday-Monday or Monday-friday? The latter you might have a better chance.

PickledPurplePickle · 14/05/2024 19:51

You can try and claim on your travel insurance if your husband is too ill to travel

justanotherlaura · 14/05/2024 19:51

There's a flexi option I think you can pay for where you can change the booking, I don't know if you chose that and if so, how far in advance you need to change but might be worth a check?

Lillers · 14/05/2024 19:56

If you have their ‘Flex Your Stay’ option, you can amend your booking up to 2 days in advance with a charge. Within 2 days no changes can be made. Without ‘FYS’, no changes.

Call them though, ask if there’s anything they can do. They are very helpful if they can be - the worst they can do is say no.
