Hi Mumsnetters,

We are off to Centreparcs as a family of 4. Children under 10. We're going to Elveden Forest in Summer. We're going with another family (of first timers) so hoping the kids will play and we will all enjoy the pool etc. But have booked activities for the mornings as individual families . We have booked Cabanas for the afternoons by the pool and lodges in the central area. We've booked early check in and Hucks restaurant for lunch on the first day but figured we would just take food for lunches and evenings. If you also cooked were the facilities up to scratch? Any tips re what to make sure we take and what we really shouldn't bother with would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

We visit at least once each year and always bring frozen meals which were pre-made at home for dinner and have quick lunches. As pp said, oven is gas which is a fiddly but once it is on, it is sorted. They should have enough pots/pans for basic meals. Others have given plenty of advice on packing lists

Take extra swim wear and towels for swimming. Elveden is excellent for cycling, super flat so if you do cycle, highly recommend taking or hiring bikes.

We don't bother with early check in or cabanas. You can enter from 10am and park. We come around lunchtime and have picnic in summer. We have our swim stuff packed so after parking, we go straight to the pool and stay there until closer to check in. Most then walk to lodge and one person gets the car for unloading. Dinner will have been defrosting so just in the oven and ready.

We minimise activity spending as kids still love the cycling and swimming. This will change but whilst theyre happy with the basics, we are happy. It also keeps our days relaxed - not a fan of running from one activity to the next

Really helpful tips here. Does anyone know if hairdryers are provided?

They’re provided @TTCaxristi

Don't forget locks for your bikes/scooters
Defo extra cleaning and washing up bits
Sharp knifes and a grater if you'll need them.
Can highly recommend the pancake house! Pottery is good and the science workshop of age appropriate do it early in your stay and collect the next day.
We found badminton was fun.
