Overnight coach travel or train travel help

I've got to travel between the north and Penzance soon. I have a choice of overnight coach, changing at Birmingham around 9pm and then onto the final coach at 11pm. Or travel to London and get the sleeper train down. Coach is £22, cheap train (no cabin) £42, or do I go for the cabin? Think that was about £140 all in.

Honestly, if you are going for anything at all important, don't go overnight. It's basically hell either way and you will not sleep well at all.

Sleeper train - is that a seat rather than a berth/ cabin

I love the sleeper train and sleep very well on it - the gentle rocking action , but on an upright seat it's a nightmare

Sleeper is amazing, you have to try it just once! You get to London and can wait in the first class lounge until the train is ready, free tea coffee and cold drinks, snacks too. Then you board and get your 'room' can sit in the on board lounge and socialise or just get straight into bed. They wake you up in the morning with your hot drink and choice of breakfast roll. Then sit and watch out the window for your arrival in Penzance. If you wish, you can take a shower in the first class lounge before continuing your day.

Thanks, I have gone for the sleeper train cabin, for the experience. It's a leisure trip, so I'm not too worried about having to be on it the next day. The reviews are mixed but I want to do it once. And at least if I don't get any sleep, then I can do that in private!
