Has anyone been? How did you find it? What would you recommend to do there?

Do you Ribby Hall?
It is like an upmarket Centre Parcs. I found the spa/restaurants really over crowded but it's a nice place.

we are going to the village rather than the hotel. Was wondering if you need to book activities and restaurants etc in advance

It’s definitely not like an upmarket centre parcs. I live near and we’ve been there as day visitors. The accommodation looks a bit rough round the edges. Centre parcs is definitely better but you’ll probably have a nice time. There’s a lot for the kids to do and the swimming pool is good but again not as good as centre parcs in terms of slides etc It’s more akin to Butlins or pontins I would say.

I agree with the above. I also live close and visit regularly. The little zoo is nice, pool is great for toddlers but not much for older kids. The parks are good. We do the walk round the site quite often which is nice, muddy though! It is looking a bit rough in places buy its a good base if your wanting to get out locally

Are there any nice local restaurants , rather than the onsite ones?

coxesorangepippin · 19/03/2024 18:07

@trevthecat we are booked to go in summer, can you recommend anywhere in particular locally?

I live not far away. I wouldn’t describe it as like Butlins or Pontins…

You’ve got the sand dunes and beach at St Anne’s, which are lovely. There are loads of restaurants in Lytham too. I’d google for reviews for the ones that appeal to your kids.

I like Zest, especially when the weather is nice enough to sit out.

If you fancy a mooch around on a hill, there’s Beacon Fell or Nicky Nook not too far away.
