As the title says. Looking for an inspiration. We pretty much hibernate in winter months and never travelled.

Staying in UK. The beginning of the half term we go down to London for a couple of nights, we’ve got tickets to see “Back to the future”. Then later on in the week we are going to Manchester for Ds birthday treat - a tour of Old Trafford.

Skiing trip with school. 40 kids and 5 staff. Can't wait.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 16/01/2024 16:25

We're going to Finland

saveplanet · 16/01/2024 20:32

Never been to Finland.
i dont have UK passport so i have to carry on applying visa all the time which is a pain. I will apply for passport this tear so hopefully we can explore other countries like you all do. My children and DH are British.
I will look at London option.

Don't rule out Cornwall. I love it in winter

ZenNudist · 16/01/2024 20:35

Not going anywhere saving holiday time and money for later in the year.

Considering Abu Dhabi Yas Island next year for a short break in hit weather to go to the Warner bros studios theme park, ferrari world (yikes) and yes waterworks with a few days chilling by a fake beach.

But will probably save money for Easter, May, August and October holidays as usual.

I also fancy a London trip in February

ZenNudist · 16/01/2024 21:10

Edit not working that should say Yas Waterworld

MinnieMountain · 17/01/2024 06:29

DH is taking DS skiing, but DS and I are thinking of going back to Pompei next February.

LaCuntiatta · 17/01/2024 06:32

Nothing planned yet, but might take the kids somewhere local-ish. We are quite near London so probably somewhere else.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 17/01/2024 07:10

We don't always go away mind. Most years we just have one holiday in the summer but sometimes we get away at a half term. Last summer we didn't go away and we did offer half term plus this coming Feb half term instead. Honestly most school holidays involved us working and the kids mooching around.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/01/2024 07:11

Northern Ireland to look at Belfast Uni for DS and catch up with friends

bobomomo · 17/01/2024 07:37

Finland but a coincidence, nothing to do with half term as they are adults

Heatherbell1978 · 17/01/2024 07:37

February is the one school break where we don't do anything - kids go into holiday clubs and we work. I feel like you either need to be skiing or go to somewhere far flung to get sunshine. Holidaying in the UK at this time of year isn't appealing weather-wise to me.

sanitygirl · 17/01/2024 08:47

Naples for a long weekend - super cheap flights and staying with friends. Can't wait for a fix of amazing food and Mediterranean light.

twistyizzy · 17/01/2024 08:52

DH is taking DD to either Copenhagen or Amsterdam for a few days as I'm at work. Need to get it booked!

ZenNudist · 17/01/2024 08:54

I've always though Granada to see the alhambra whilst not too hot and crowded in Feb. You could combine it with beachy fun for the kids. It wouldn't be hot but it would not be any worse than UK seaside in summer.

CanteringAlong · 20/01/2024 19:17

We are looking to go somewhere in the South East or East for a long weekend with our two young children too.

FrownedUpon · 20/01/2024 19:40

We’re off to France. I can’t wait. I need something to lift my winter mood. We’re just choosing some nice restaurants to book in advance.

Soccermumamir · 22/01/2024 19:47

We're off to Newcastle for a mini break with kids 17 and 11. First day shopping and food, second day off to watch a basketball game 😁🙌🏻🏀

Clearinguptheclutter · 22/01/2024 19:50

Usually don’t go away in February but we are doing a 2 day/1 night trip to London this half term.

LaPalmaLlama · 22/01/2024 19:52

Meeting some friends in an air bnb in the Cotswolds for a long weekend but then home for the rest of it.

saveplanet · 23/01/2024 12:27
