Hi,

does anyone have any recommendations for holiday houses/cottages to rent in Bamburgh/alnwick area?

Be warmed, cottages in Bamburgh are expensive and book up quickly. The surrounding villages eg Beadnell/Seahouses/Embleton/Lucker may have more availability.

We've used this company several times and would recommend them <<www.northumbria-cottages.co.uk/>>

Also came to recommend Northumbria Cottages agency!

Do you have any recommendations from the selection 😊

Coquet cottages are excellent:

How many people does it need to sleep?

NotFastButFurious · 03/01/2024 13:29

we stayed in Alnmouth but it was a big house (4 or 5 bedrooms). The village is lovely though, right on the beach and a couple of good pubs, a chippy and a deli and cafe.

3 adults, one child, one infant 😊

Another vote for Coquet cottages, we stayed in “Hermitage” in Bamburgh, which has 3 big bedrooms and a good sized lounge. Very central too.

Just down the coast at Amble. We've stayed at Seashell House.

Like the look of this - do you recommended?

We stayed in Warkworth a few times - when the kids were younger. The castle is excellent for that age.

Honeybee Cottage and Coquette View (I think- the ones on The Butts) were our favourites. Through coquet cottages.

MarchHareInTheRain · 03/01/2024 19:51

Coquet View - not Croquette! 😆

Rainbowshine · 03/01/2024 21:14

Yes, I do. The kitchen is a bit of a strange layout but it’s a good place for a week and we were very pleased with it.

these are lovely and we have been several times now over the years

Have located this thread again to say that we stopped in one of the B&B rooms at Breamish Valley Cottages the other week based on the recommendation here and it was lovely.

We stayed in the Bilberry, the room was absolutely gorgeous and the bathroom was a particular (white marble) highlight - enormous bath tub, beautiful huge shower, etc. I had a three hour long bath on our last night, I could see the TV from the tub. Very thoughtfully put together rooms.

Breakfast from the Bosk was included in the room rate and they were so attentive and quite happy to accommodate vegan diets.

Highly recommended, although the area is quite remote and the restaurant/bar shuts very early in the evening, so make sure you’ve taken this into account in your evening plans/purchase of supplies - especially as the B&B rooms are set up for pairs of adults rather than families. You’d need to have a designated driver if you want a drink, or be happy enough to spend the evening in your room in the beautiful white hotel robes with a bottle of pre-purchased wine.

I’ve stayed here before. Very nice property although I seem to remember the ‘instructions’ on how to exist in the place a bit OTT. Felt like they were a bit precious about it despite renting it out at a premium as a holiday let in the school hols.

No. 31 at Warkworth

No. 31 at Warkworth is central for exploring Northumberland. Located in pretty Warkworth village. Sleeps 4, 2 dogs allowed.

I’m really pleased to hear you had a great time. The B and B rooms are absolutely wonderful, but I do love the cottages..the area is pretty remote as you say but over the years we have discovered some lovely walks, local pubs and surrounding villages..I absolutely adore it up there and can feel myself physically relaxing and breathing out as soon as we pull in to the car park!
