Good evening MN Smile

We're off to York in the New year (two nights) and wondering if anyone has recommendations for the following ... excellent yet reasonably priced -

Chinese restaurant
Italian restaurant
Coffee shops
I've also heard there are good ghost walks of an evening and we'd love to do something like that.

We are staying at the Hampton by Hilton York Piccadilly if that helps.

Thanks anyone for ideas and wishing you and your loved ones a very happy Christmas 😊

Little Italy is lovely - great food, beautifully presented and a fab atmosphere. You'll need to book though.

Not Italian or Chinese, but Cafe no.8 has superb food too

Very envious, love York

I was going to say Delrios!

And pig and pastry for coffee/brunch if you're walking round the walls

Had a good meal at La Vecchia Scuola in the summer…a rather lovely building.

So we're home now after a very nice few days away. We decided on -

Day 1
Spark for lunch, we shared a delicious pizza which was very reasonably priced.
Little Italy for dinner. Absolutely beautiful food and very generous portions.
Did a tour with Shadows of York in the end which was good fun.

Day 2
We were still stuffed from a filling yet mediocre hotel buffet breakfast so had a late lunch at Drift of a very nice homemade soup. Think we were craving the veg!
Dinner we booked the Refectory which was lovely although a treat. A minor niggle was we ordered a side of fries which were to die for BUT out of a small pot 4 of them had black nasty bits on them which when you're paying £6 isn't so great.

Oh we also had coffee and cake at Partisan which was nice, the breakfast good there looked amazing

Thanks again MN - you were very helpful Grin

The Van Gogh immersive experience is amazing, completely mesmerising. Definitely Betty's for afternoon tea.

I loved the Botanist when I went there! I did a ghost walk...met outside the Minster at around 7 pm. It was very interesting, would definitely recommend! Involved going down the Shambles in the dark Grin
