Some lovely restaurants on the waterfront, obviously the zoo, shopping in town or Cheshire Oaks for designer stuff, climbing up Moel Famau

CheshireCat1 · 14/10/2023 16:34

Jodrell Bank isn’t to far from that area, great for science enthusiasts, it’s worth looking at the website.

TodayInahurry · 14/10/2023 16:49

The Zoo is really good, the food was rather child friendly. I went a few weeks ago, there is a super Market Place in a building with different cuisines, not sure where it was, fairly central, but the food look good!

bigbadbarry · 14/10/2023 16:54

Nine elephants is a great Thai street food restaurant and I really rate Hamayuu for Japanese. Death by tacos is also great and teen-friendly but obviously not Asian! And there’s an excellent pizza restaurant on bridge street but I cannot remember what it is called. I haven’t been myself but I hear good things about Sick to Death. And the tour all the way to the top of the cathedral is good

bigbadbarry · 14/10/2023 16:56

Ah, pizza restaurant is urbano32. And as a PP said, the new market has great food and a fun atmosphere

octodrive · 14/10/2023 17:21

We felt really disappointed with the zoo.

InMySpareTime · 14/10/2023 17:31

There's "sick to death" on Bridge Street in Chester, which is full of gory history stuff:

Blue Planet and
Chesire Oaks, Chester Zoo, hire row or motor boat on river.
Walk the walls or Ghost Tour at night.
Not sure of name but Italian restaurant on Lower Bridge Street, been there years, always popular and good choice for teens.

Can't imagine a 15-year-old boy would care about the zoo.
Would he like the Beatles' tour in Liverpool?

Whatsgoingon12345 · 15/10/2023 23:20

Thank you! Yes I suggested the zoo and got a ‘aww nawww’ which is the most animated he’s been all week! Shame, I’d like to go.
Jodrell Bank got a shrug as did ghost tour and possibly Beatles, so that’s great, thanks! That means yay! In teen boy language.Landrover would be a definite but the tours are not on when we are there. But again, thanks, I’d never have found that by mooching on the internet.
and the restaurants look good too. Thank you so much, I’m a lot less stressed about the visit now.

Define Sick to Death, and the Market place for street food.

Cheshire Oakes good for shopping with some good food options inc Mowgli.

Theres a good go kart place not far from Chester too? Also a few escape rooms in the centre.

If you want to go to Liverpool there’s an amazing place in old Debenhams building, electric go karting, amusements, bowling, crazy golf etc

Whatsgoingon12345 · 22/10/2023 19:11

Thank you very much everyone. We had a lovely time - Cheshire oaks, even DS got some hoodies, lunch at wagamamas and Jodrell Bank, which is really well done. I can recommend.
We will need to go back again very soon (family) and I’m so happy I now have a bank of places to go. Thank you so very much.
i can now book ahead for landrover which DS would love.
you are all wonderful and I thank you loads!
