I had a one way ticket for a train that got cancelled a few weeks ago. I've requested a refund but they've only refunded half of the ticket price. I've appealed and they've replied saying that it's been calculated correctly.
Basically I was waiting for a train that was delayed due to trespassers on the track. Then a message came up on the platform screens saying that it was cancelled at several stations, one of which was the one I was going to. They were obviously trying to make up time by not stopping at stations and making it a direct route to its final destination.
The train was due at my station at 10.15am. The next train due that was going to stop at my destination was due at 11.15am. So a delay of 60 minutes.
I didn't want to wait that long so made alternative arrangements to get home. I'm entitled to 50% of the ticket price back for delays of 30-59 minutes. Over 60 minutes delay I should get 100% back.
The next train was due an hour later at 11.15am so I'm guessing it was ahead of time which is why I've only got 50% of my ticket price back. But I'd like to check if that's the case. I'm sure they've got it right, especially as I've appealed and it's probably been checked but I'd like to know for my own piece of mind.
I've had a look at their website but can't find anywhere that lists actual arrival times of trains - is it possible? It was West Midlands Trains if that makes a difference. I don't travel by train very often but on the three occasions I have this year they've all been delayed or cancelled!
