We've got a week booked in Northumberland soon and I'm looking for a few ideas for things to do.
We're going to Lindisfarne and Alnwick Castle, I had planned to get the train down to the Metro Center but the prices are £££ for 5 of us.
We're coming down from Scotland and have visited the area a few times but not for quite a while.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Bamburgh beach for a walk and there's a nice cafe called the copper kettle best cheese scone my husband has ever eaten so he says!!
Eyemouth just has one chip shop now on the front but it is the best around.

Have a walk/paddle round Beadnell bay, the shape and position means it can be much more sheltered on a windy day. Also the walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh is short and you can buy Craster kippers. If you like seafood the Jolly Fisherman pub there is excellent but you must book even for lunch, and ask for a table in the conservatory bit for sea view. More good food at http://www.shipinnnewton.co.uk/food.html right by the beach.
