I just wanted to know what's the best way to book a holiday? Do you book accommodation and flights separately or all in one? Also what websites are cheap and have good deals that do instalments?

It depends what sort of holiday you want.......if you want a package then you need either a travel agent or book direct with the operator (TUI, Thomas Cook, Jet2 Holidays etc), or if you want to make up your own thing then book flights and accommodation separately but you'll need to factor in airport transfers, hire car etc.

Thank you! You're right! But I always hear some people say they booked from different websites and some people book together, I'm always confused on where to find the best cheap deal. But thanks for your advice!Halo

For our family holidays we tend to book each element separately. We start with flights - using SkyScanner to find best times and prices. Then we look at where we're going and choose a property, whether hotel or apartment, look at what it offers, location, nearby amenities etc.

We book those, then we look at car hire.

It takes a bit of time, but we usually end up paying less than a package with flight times that suit us better, and we learn more about where we're going and what we'll find when we get there.

But on the other hand - for holidays with my best friends (once a year), we go to our local travel agent, tell her when we want to travel and ask her to find a package deal!

BA holidays usually work out cheaper for me.

First I check sky scanner for the best flight times and date combination.

The I look at TUI or Love holidays website (usually both) and filter the search with the criteria I'm looking for. Both these sites are really easy to use and clearly & quickly show the total Holiday price and price changes by changing dates and duration of holiday.

THEN, if I haven't lost the will to live by this point, I head to the BA website and plug in the dates and destination I've settled on for check their price. It often works out cheaper and with better flight options. But their own website is shit.
