Train Strikes And Getting To London

I am hoping someone can help. I need to get into London on Sat 2nd Sept and Sun 3rd Sept when the rail strikes are on. I would normally just take the train to Paddington, but obviously they are not running. I had thought about driving to Reading, and taking the Elizabeth line as that isn't covered by the strikes. However, when I use the TFL plan my journey site, I can get into London, but can't get back out as I need to leave after 8pm and it seems to say there aren't any trains. I am well and truly stumped. Is there any way of doing this?

Drive to Rickmansworth and take the metropolitan line. Plenty of parking at the station.

GWR trains are running to London on Saturday, Elizabeth line is too. Slightly later start up and earlier finish but they are running? What time do you need to be there and leave?

I need to be at Oxford Circus by 8am and then leave after 7pm. I think I might have to arrive late and leave early.

That would work! Plan D in place!

Ah yes that may be a problem then

Drive to a tube station. Rickmansworth, Moor Park etc and get the Met Line. Will be an early start, but parking won't be an issue.

I was also going to suggest driving to an outer zone tube station.

Or Heathrow/Hatton Cross And tube in from there.

Wear at London bridge last night and there was one train every 30 mins until 9, it was heaving and definitely had a night bus feel. Poor station start trying to explain to a bloke that yes, last week he did get a train but this week there's a strike. He just kept insisting that last week the train he wants existed so it must this week too 😨

Catching the train at Reading (07:24), the earliest I can see you getting to Oxford Circus (or rather the Hannover Sq exit of Bond St Elizabeth line) is 08:07.

There seem to be trains running out of Paddington until at least 20:20.

There is a fair sized multi-storey near Reading station.

The overground bits of Elizabeth Line aren't running but GWR has a semblance of a train service.

This strike must be costing drivers a lot of lost wages; I've had so many journeys disrupted in the past year and I am not a commuter!
