Large family accommodation in southern England

Looking to book a weekend away with my extended family- there would be 18 people in total, including children. Sometime before Christmas, no specific date in mind.

Either need one very large house or 3-4 separate units (could be caravans, lodges, etc) close together. Not looking for luxury- working on somewhat of a budget. I'd rather not use AirBnB.

Does anyone have any good recommendations please?

Just curious as to why you don't want to use AirBnB?

If you don't and want an alternative we've used Sykes Cottages a few times and the Visit sites so like VisitDevon and look under accommodation. It can take a while to trawl through but there are often some gems included.

Have a look on Cottages.com or English Country Cottages, they do have large properties to rent.

And if you're in a budget definitely look at YHA. Some have en-suite rooms now and often you can hire the whole place in off peak times.

Thank you for the suggestions- I will have a look.

I'm hoping someone may have a specific property/ holiday site they've actually visited before so could recommend.

I don't want to use AirBnB for a couple of reasons- already had a quick look and couldn't see anything that met my criteria, but also find the ever increasing demands/ additional fees for some properties a bit off-putting! Often there is a price per night, but when you go through the booking process, an extra couple of hundreds pounds is suddenly added for cleaning/ admin fees, etc. Or there are rules about stripping bedding, not using certain outdoor areas at certain times, etc.

Centre Parcs now have 6 bedroom lodges with a double oven, double sink and an eight-burner hob. We did this as a big group at Easter. We needed to book two lodges and rang up the contact centre rather than doing in online. They were very helpful and put us in lodges very close to each other (close enough for the dc to walk unaccompanied). It worked really well - the two lodges took in in turns to cater and the adults took it in turns to take the dc to the pool complex or for bike rides! We didn’t pay for any extra activities.
