Luxury version of Centre Parcs in December?

Hi all,

I’m looking for somewhere to take DS (who will be 1 and a half) in December for a long weekend.

The only thing that puts me off of Centre Parcs is that the cabins looks a little basic - or are they not too bad in real life?!

Also, DS will be a little young for most of the activities so I think we’d end up just walking a lot and swimming (which we could do at places other than Centre Parcs…).

Does anyone have any recommendations for anything similar and equally as festive?

😊

This looks lovely but is just that bit more too far for us for just a few nights!

Have you looked at all the different accommodation types?

Where abouts are you looking, was about to recommend the same hotel!

Sorry, that was really unclear and unhelpful. I mean, is the treehouse and exclusive lodge not nice enough, it will help people find something right if that’s the case. Or is it just the normal lodges you don’t like the look of?

To be honest, I’ve been looking for the same thing for years because the cost of CP is extortionate but so far I’ve failed.

The winter wonderland at CP is really lovely, they have loads of festive activities for little ones (chargeable, obviously 🙄) and the lodges are fine - there are different types available, we usually go for the executive new style but even the woodland lodges are nice.

It boils my piss that it costs so much, but my kids love it and we haven’t found anything that comes close to CP for Christmas. I am watching this thread incase anyone knows something I don’t!

I've stayed in the massive lodges with games room, hot tub and housekeeping service at CP and I'm struggling to see how they would not be a decent enough standard. It felt pretty luxurious to me!

For that age I probably wouldn't go to centre parcs. It's very expensive and you're right, the activities will mainly be too old. We stayed recently and my four year old had an absolute whale of a time, my 14 month old was fine but we wouldn't have taken just her.

The basic lodges are fine, especially given how long you generally stay at center parcs. They are basic but I don't think they're missing anything major for a long weekend. They're small though, so kitchen surface space is limited, space around the bed is small etc. I find the beds comfy and duvets warm, which is always a plus!
The exclusive lodges are ££ but are much more spacious (PILs took us once, we wouldn't be able to afford it). Big bedrooms, en suite, more kitchen space, more fridge/freezer space. Just generally bigger. Plus they have their own hot tub, sauna and steam room in each one.

I’m in the midlands and most places are doable for a couple of nights (just not really Cornwall/Devon!).
