Help us find somewhere for a short holiday

Hi
Help me find a dog friendly place for a short uk break for early September. I'm going bog-eyed searching the web. We're looking for a cottage or lodge or static mobile home for us two active oldies and our two year old dog; in a village or small town, near the sea with a pub, maybe a restaurant nearby and good walks for us and pooch.

We live in the midlands so everywhere is far from the sea and we don’t mind driving 100 miles or more to get there.

Everything seems to have increased in price, and although we aren’t poor we don’t want to go above £500/ 700 for a week

We like Northumberland and North Yorkshire, but we've done them at least half a dozen times. Thanks

How about Anglesey? Lots of lovely beaches, walks and places to eat. Plenty of sites offering dog friendly cottages.

There are a few pubs in the village. You won't go far wrong at the Royal. Miles of coastal walks, the first week in September it's the Vintage Festival in Morecambe which is brilliant. There are free buses from Heysham or you could walk

I came on to say Anglesey too! We went last month & it was lovely, quiet dog friendly beaches, nice restaurants, good walks & pretty towns/villages.

How about Somerset? You can easily get bed and breakfast for that. There are rentals but they tend to work out more expensive. Everywhere (except costa and one restaurant) is dog friendly in our town, great beer and live music for free on weekends. We are on the coastal path, as are several similar towns. Being near to Bristol it runs at about £80 a night here b&b

What about Minehead? Caravan sites in Blue Anchor and Porlock. You've got Dunster and Porlock on the doorstep, walking on top of North Hill in Minehead with the Exmoor ponies around, Bossington and Selworthy are both very pretty villages. Day trips to Lynmouth/Lynton, Ilfracombe, ghost-hunting walks in Dunster and Watchet.

Waxham Sands campsite in Norfolk. Their website gives you more details about dog friendly walks, beaches and other things to do in the area.

Southwold is great - Covehithe Beach is gorgeous and dog friendly. Oak Cottage

Rye is also lovely and more affordable than Camber often, but very close to Camber Sands which is dog friendly year round. Lantern Cottage

Gower is gorgeous and has several lovely beaches for dog walks. Oxwich has a great dog friendly beach and two castles! The Cross

Other great dog friendly areas with beaches:
Milford on Sea, Hampshire
Mudeford, Dorset
Wells Next the Sea, North Norfolk
West Wittering, West Sussex

2 Bedroom Cottage in Traders Passage

Lantern Cottage - 2 Bedroom pet friendly Holiday Cottage in Traders Passage sleeps 4 people with wifi, parking perfect for a well-deserved break

Netherby Hall near Carlisle, not far from Dumfries coast abs/or Lake District. Amazing self catered apartments and option to go to connected Michelin star restaurant. It’s very special
