Things to do in Bournemouth area with 80yo mum

Am taking my 80yo mum to Bournemouth for a few days soon.

She's mobile but can't walk far. We can't sit in cafes and bars all day (though that's an option!) - suggestions for places down that way we can visit that won't involve too much walking. She's happy to park on a bench while I have a wander but I wouldn't like to leave her too long.

Happy childhood memories of Southbourne and Christchurch etc.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Bournemouth has a hop on hop off sightseeing bus
Take a boat trip from Poole. There are lots to choose from www.pooletourism.com/things-to-do/tours-and-sightseeing/boat-tours
You could also drive to Norden and catch the steam railway to Swanage and back. It stops along the way at Corfe Castle where the train station has been done up to make it feel as if you’re stepping back in time.

Drive into the new forest, have a stroll from the car as able, stop and look at the ponies. Plenty of new forest tea rooms.

There are the gardens running right from copy pond down to the square and on down to the pier, choose a section and stroll or people watch.

There is the Russel coates museum if you like indoorsy things, if her mobility would allow her to walk round it?

That should say Coy Pond!

Go over the chain ferry from Sandbanks to Studland, drive as far into the isle of Purbeck as you like.
Branksome Arms pub in Studland
Tea rooms & model village in Corfe

Christchurch Priory and Wimborne Minster are both interesting churches if you like that sort of thing. There's the quay in Christchurch. Lots of cafes in both towns. Model Village in Wimborne.

Kingston Lacey NT property near Wimborne too - walking around the grounds probably not suitable if she can only do short distances but there's the house & cafe.

Wareham is another interesting town with a quay, ancient town walls & a church built into the walls.

Check and see if they have a tramper to hire, they look fun

Mudeford Quay can pretty much park up with a viiew of the sea and short walks around in

Poole Quay/Baiter Park much the same, Christchurch Quay also but river rather than sea

Ferry to Studland and into Swanage

Compton Acrea, Kingston Lacey, Beaulieu, Burley, Lyndhurst all houses or towns/villages

New Forest Bus tour, it's hop on, hop off but you can stay on and won't be kicked off. Well worth the money and not a lot of walking if you don't want to

Brownsea Island, boat across from Sandbanks. You don't need to walk far on the other side to see a red squirrel.
