Llandudno

Hello All

I have looked and looked but cannot seem to find out so posting here
A weekend break to Llandudno is booked and we are staying at County Hotel.
DM will be almost 80 and I cannot see any bus route from the Hotel to the Pier and onwards (Cable Car mainly), Don't mind a slow stroll back again if not too far.
Is there a bus that stops along the front ?
DM will get us a cab if not but thought I would check it out first.
TIA

I feel the best way to get to Conwy is via the Toll road I think the vintage bus goes that way but I can't see it being much in a Taxi its not far, the views from the toll road are spectacular
Heres a link to the Vintage bus

This is the Orme bus (toll road if you like) - https://www.visitconwy.org.uk/things-to-do/great-orme-marine-drive-tours-p277421 which goes round the Orme only.
This is the Orme Tram - https://greatormetramway.co.uk/ - the stop is near to Church Walks - at the top of town almost underneath the Orme.
This is the Hop on Hop off bus which has 2 routes - 1 round the Orme - the blue route. 2 - Red route which goes to Conwy. https://city-sightseeing.com/en/94/llandudno - seperate tickets or combined but 2 different buses.

Great Orme Marine Drive Tours

Our Great Orme Tour is operated by our small fleet of vintage coaches to transport guests around the magnificent Great Orme in Llandudno.

I like the look of the Vintage Bus

One of my Grandads was a coach driver back then.

Hope you have fun! We're on anglesey ATM visiting family. Storm Betty is due to roll in by tomorrow, so high winds might disrupt the cable car. Hopefully you'll get some nice weather after too.

Well what a fabulous holiday I had.

The journey, though totally no fault of the resort, was a nightmare though but that is another story.

The first Day we went to Betws-y-coed . What a beautiful place and one I had not seen for 47 years. Ample time there and I took photos and videos of the wonderful rushing river. Then on to Snowdonia but we declined the Snowdon railway as it was a whopping (to Me) £38 return and the visibility poor.. Had a lovely lunch in the restaurant attached to Padarn Hotel then a wander round to look at the beautiful scenery

Sunday was a day at leisure in Llandudno and we set off early.
Chose the Tram to go to the top of the Great Orme and I have no complaints about any of it, at all..
Bit of lunch and stroll on the pier and we went to the Home Front Museum which DM (almost 80) absolutely loved with her reminiscing. Then on to The Gresham for some cocktails.

I enjoyed it very very much.

Possibly a few years

DD fancies having a hike in Snowdonia with a friend but I will certainly tag along.

Did you do this trip through Shearings @Trinity65 ? How did you find the hotel? I go to the area with my husband a lot and we normally stay near Conwy - but was thinking my friend may like to do the coach trip .

Yep.

The only thing I will say though is that on the outward journey we had a large detour, to allow other pick ups.

We left from Canterbury in a minibus (very nice one) for Dartford and then over it went to Lakeside... It later stopped at various places in Essex, Cambridgeshire and Warwickshire, before we met the main coach to Llandudno at Rugby.
We had a few stops en route, varying from 20 minutes to an hour at leisure.
It took 8 hours to get there.
The way back was truly horrific one way or another and, in total (including the minibus) took us 11 hours to get back to Kent.

Both the drivers though, of the feeder coach and main coach, were very nice.
Seats in the main coach had charging ports in the back of seats to charge your mobile or whatever, which I found to be useful.

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea

The Hotel was adequate I shall say but its gone way past its Best.
Its a huge place and I believe the rooms vary from very nice to very awful.
Part of it appears to have been done up and there are rooms there so those rooms might be nice.
I suppose we got what we paid for really.
Breakfast and Dinner included and mostly nice, with attentive service from the dining hall staff. We found bar prices reasonable (but are from London and Kent where they are dear) and the measures reasonable as well.

Entertainment was just for 2 nights and ended at 10.30.

Nothing on a Sunday night at all and nowhere near to Town centre so no bars around that end.
