CitizenM hotels

These looks like great hotels, but only offer rooms with XL king size beds.

what would be the chances of being able to book one of these for me and two DC - 14 and 12? The bed would be big enough, if I can get away with it.

Thoughts?

I think they only let you book for two people so you would have to try and sneak the other DC in, which I wouldn’t recommend.

Also, not sure if they’re all the same but the one I stayed in had the bed taking up the entire end of the room so there’s only bed access from one side, iyswim. That’s annoying enough with two people let alone three!

The rooms themselves are tiny.

Oh that’s annoying. I know it would be sneaking in. I know people do that with Premier Inn. It’s a chain so feel more acceptable than with independent/family-run place.

A bit rubbish for lone parents families tho. Don’t want to leave one child alone or without me - quite apart from the cost

Dh and I stayed in an amazing one in New York, but one side of the bed was pushed up against the wall that the window was on. Didn’t matter to us but I don’t think it would be great with two DC even if you could get them into the hotel without anyone questioning it (which I don’t think you’d be able to do). Room was in a brilliant location and worked well for us. Yes, it was small but designed incredibly well and worked for us, I’d stay there again.

I have stayed in them and they are adult only- also as someone else said, quite small rooms. Loved the one in Glasgow!

ChessieFL · 27/03/2023 17:28

They do let children stay (I stayed there with DD when she was about 9) but it is only max two people per room and no flexibility - so not really aimed at families.

FallenFigs · 27/03/2023 17:29

Oh I didn’t know they were adult only.

in search of hotel intel then - as booking.com misses quite a few of the more interesting chains.

I’ve stayed at both Premier Inn and ibis hotels in a family room for three (in London).
