Butlins? What age?

Has anyone got any experience of taking older DCs to Butlins? Mine will be 13 and 10 and I don't know if Butlins is too young for them. All their promotional material features much younger kids. Any advice gratefully received. I'm hoping to go away with the DCs somewhere I don't have to be both carer and entertainment (and peacekeeper!) as DH refuses to go away with the kids anymore.

A 13 and 10 year old will like the pool and arcade.

My own DD doesn't love crowds and loudnoises so wouldn't like the late evening stuff and would be too old for the earlier evening shows now. Depends on the child. I'd stay in a hotel if you can sometimes they have better facilities for teens, we haven't been sine DD was small but I'm sure the hotels had gaming rooms for older children.

And funfair *

The shows at Butlins will be too young for them and they might find the pool and funfair a little on the tame side, but there are lots of activities like high ropes, archery, bowling, rock climbing, laser tag, segways and an arcade if you don’t mind paying extra.

I think 13 is probably too old. I took my 11 year olds before Christmas and they were just on the cusp.we stayed in a hotel and the gaming rooms are crap since covid, and only open a couple of hours a day.

Thanks for the replies :-)! Looks like Butlins might be a bit young for them. Back to the drawing board!

It's miles out of my price bucket (and also miles from me location wise) but what about Alton towers and their swimming pool. Maybe spread it out as a night in their posh hotel and the others in a Premier Inn nearby pool and rides they would probably enjoy.

Or a friend went to somewhere in Wales Zip world I think that her children enjoyed.

Not sure either would give you a relaxing break or the children independence.
