Summer holidays in Wales - anywhere else we should try?

Looking for recommendations for summer holidays in Wales. Will be a family group, all adults. In the past couple of years we've enjoyed holidays in Pembrokeshire (near St David's), Pembrokeshire/Camarthenshire border, and also close to Llandudno/Conwy. For each I've loved being by the sea and going for coastal walks, but also having places to visit, eg Conwy Castle, Tenby, St David's. I particularly loved walking stretches of the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Does anyone have any suggestions of other places in Wales for this type of holiday?

We love Talacre beach resort in North Wales

Mumbles

The stretch from Barmouth down to Crricieth and beyond has stunning beaches and coastal walks, from Porthmadog you can get the steam train to Ffestiniogg and visit the slate mines.

You can also strike out into the mountains and hills of Snowdonia from here.

I spent many childhood holidays in this part of Wales and have been taking my own son over the last four years or so.

Mumbles including Langland Bay and Caswell Bay. Lots to do locally.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

How about Cardigan Bay. Absolutely beautiful coastline with great places to visit.

B-road Haven and Little Haven, both lovely beaches in Pembrokeshire. Lots of lovely walks

ImBlueDab · 28/01/2023 23:03

Broad haven

How about Beddgelert, North Wales?

You have the mountains for hiking and beaches close by.

I did want to recommend St Davids but I see you have already been. Pembrokeshire is heaven on earth.

Ceredigion. Tresaith, Llangrannog, Mwnt, Aberaeron.
Or Gower/Mumbles as pp said.

I'm biased but I'd recommend Anglesey. Good beaches, Beaumaris castle, striking distance of snowdonia

Some of the lakes eg Lake Vyrnwy.

Thank you everyone. Will definitely take a closer look at the various places recommended.

Gower.

Stay near Oxwich at Penrice Castle Cottages or similar and explore the whole peninsula. You can pop to Mumbles which isn't far if you want 'civilisation' where there's a good selection of cafes and whatnot.

Definitely Anglesey

We always go on holiday to Pembrokeshire. Lovely Tenby, Saudersfood, Broad Haven, Freshwater West, Barafundle Bay, all of it.

Was with a friend last night who was saying we should visit north Wales - mentioned Anglesey (which was always on my list) in particular

We stayed in North Wales near Conwy and absolutely loved it. We went to Bodnant Gardens, Penrhyn Castle, Angel Bay and Portmerion. We then had a night near Cheshire and went to Quarry Banks before driving. We loved every minute.
