Best Beaches or lochs in Scotland?

The breathtaking, secluded, wild ones you see on TV etc and don't believe they're in Scotland.

Luskentyre on Harris is meant to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I've spent a lot of time in various parts of Scotland, but havn't made it here yet. It's top of my bucket list.

I went to Shetland last summer, and it was the best place I've ever been.

Not on my radar.

Not bothered about the weather, I love the rain and associated climate.

I have very hazy memory of there being some kind of restrictions on caravans on Calmac ferries. Make sure you check it out.

Luskentyre beach on Harris is the best beach I've ever seen, anywhere.

Calgary Bay on Mull is pretty spectacular too.

North Uist. We were the only ones there. This wasn't a particularly nice day.

Lots of lovely beaches on mull. Calgary and langamull and port na ba in the north and tons in the south inc Iona. You won't be alone on Calgary but most of the others are fairly quiet even in summer.

We were there earlier this year, there were seals on the little island opposite it and also an otter.

The various outer Hebrides beaches mentioned are glorious - the white shell sand and shallow water gives that wonderful 'Caribbean blue' .

Loch wise, I live by Glentrool Loch which is beautiful, we paddle board on it frequently in summer. If coming from NW and you're staying on this side, it's def worth a stop.

I also love the green Loch in Aviemore! No access by road, I think its about 20 min walk in. Last time we were on bikes.

Talisker beach in Skye was also beautiful and a fair walk from the road but worth it!!

Sandwood bay 100%
You have to hike there (it’s easy and flat) so it’s utterly unspoilt.

We hiked there and spent the night on the beach, it was incredible.

Another vote for Sandwood Bay- I've wild camped in the dunes there and watched whales breaching out in the bay.

Beaches on the Outer Hebrides are unbeatable - Luskentyre, Seilebost, Scarista.. to name a few
Closer to Edinburgh are Aberlady, Gullane, Yellowcraigs. North Berwick good for families as it has a tidal swimming pool.

I've been to Arisaig/Morar and it's beautiful. The scenery around Glencoe is breathtaking. Only thing that outs me off is the midges.

I've been to many of those mentioned and loved many. One that surprised me last year was how stunning Lossiemouth was (and Hopeman East). I'd never been and it blew me away.

Dornoch. We were there in Aug 20. SE England was packed. It was 25 degrees with about 30 people. Beautiful.
