Where to stay in London - family of 5

I'm looking for somewhere to stay in London for a long weekend, preferably a hotel or serviced apartment but would consider an AirBnB. We want to do the usual touristy things, probably the London Eye, a show and maybe the science museum or natural history museum.

There's 5 of us - two adults and 3DC, aged 7, 5 and 1. Does anybody have any recommendations that don't totally break the bank?! Flexible on location but with the children don't it to be too awkward to get around.

Look at Premier Inn. They are near all the major sites and tube stations, offer family rooms and brilliant buffet breakfast.

If you'd all fit in a family room, the Premier Inn in County Hall might be good? Really convenient location and there's a nice kids' playpark very close by on the Embankment.

Not on The Embankment, but on the embankment, literally next door to the hotel.

Southwark Station Premier Inn is also good, we stayed there (family of 4) in October. It's a 5 min walk from Waterloo Station and 5-10 min walk from the London Eye/Southbank

Premier Inn Kensington (Earls Court) is good value and very close to the NH & Science museums (15 minute walk or £7 black cab).

Another vote for premier inn or Travelodge, both allow a third child in a cot in their family rooms. We stayed at Paddington Basin and the family room was big enough for 3 kids.

Thanks everyone, the premier inns all seem booked up for the weekend we were thinking of going - think we've left it a bit late this time round. Might go later in the year instead.

The train strikes are putting me off a bit too, as we definitely don't want to be driving down to London!
