we went to CP in Holland (em hoff) end of august for about £750 in a VIP lodge. managed to get flights for £50 each. Loads cheaper than 'good ole blighty'

On Ebay you can sometimes buy discount codes.

hairtwiddler · 02/02/2008 19:21

If you look on the moneysavingexpert website there is a discount code finder... hang on will try to find link fo ryou. Not easy to get discount in school hols though.

hairtwiddler · 02/02/2008 19:24

money saving expert discount finder
I wouldn't trust ebay bought codes

Lucycat · 02/02/2008 20:03

Does it have to be Centerparcs?

Have a look at Hoseasons - I was a bit sniffy about them but we've just booked a log cabin near York on a lovely little site and they have millions of places on their website like it.

here you go

SammyC · 02/02/2008 20:09

try typing in family in the discount code box, have been told if you have kids under 5 this gives u discount on week stay? poss not when its the summer break! we are off on Monday to Longleat CP for a 4 night stay

klover · 02/02/2008 20:37

i have tried the ebay thing, and have been ripped off buying a code so i wont try that again. The family code doesn't seem to work on 7night stay.

lucycat - is the place you booked called Paradise? If so we went there 3 years ago and it truely was paradise

Lucycat · 02/02/2008 20:45

we looked at that but they had no avaliability - it does look lovely.

we are going to Goose Wood Park

not sure about the hot tub in February thouugh

Furball · 02/02/2008 20:53

looks fab lucycat, that playground is a bonus too!

SammyC · 03/02/2008 09:10

Give CP a ring and see what discounts they can offer, what about CPWEB code?

Fizzylemonade · 03/02/2008 20:35

They usually don't offer discounts outside school time, if you go before mid july then you would qualify for the 7 night stay discount.

When are you looking to go - the discount code I used (I go to CP about twice a year and am going end of Feb for the 7th time) is JAN8CP. This will only work up until 14th July and is only for mon - fri or fri - mon. The family code won't work for 7 night stay as you get a different discount for combining a mon-fri and a fri-mon stay - usually 15%

If you want to know prices of anything in particular activity wise I can give you that too as all my stuff just came through. We are off to Whinfell but have done Sherwood and Elvedon.

You could try CMA Whitemead park instead in Glouchester. It has an indoor pool, park, soft play area, walks, local attractions etc and LOADS cheaper!

Nappyzone · 15/02/2008 20:20

lucycat when do you go? i have just booked today for aug so hope it is gooooood. Was a bit confused about all the accom names!

Lucycat · 16/02/2008 20:36

Nappyzone We got back on Wednesday and it was fabulous! The dd's loved the adventure playground, dh loved the fishing and the hot tub was to die for! We drove to the Park and Ride and left the car there to go into York - cost the adults £2 each return.

What accomodation have you chosen?

smartiejake · 16/02/2008 20:42

There are some parks in Belgium which are like Centerparcs but much cheaper. We went to one of the Sunparcs in Belgium (De-Hann) which was very good and easy to get to. Near a lovely beach too within walking disctance. SOOOO much cheaper than Centerparcs too. Don't go to the Sunparcs in Oust Dunkirke though- it's like a prison camp!

Lucycat · 17/02/2008 13:44

There is now a photo on my profile with our lodge behind it - complete with hot tub on the decking - it was a Kingfisher one!

edam · 17/02/2008 14:07

wasn't it a bit bracing in Yorkshire at this time of year?

(Am a Yorkshire lass myself but would definitely opt for a nice warm house in Feb, not a chalet!)

ScienceTeacher · 17/02/2008 14:30

Go on the continent - turn the pound sign into a Euro

Lucycat · 17/02/2008 17:24

It did have central heating and as it was included in the price we had it on most of the time - more than at home actually!!

They get surprisingly warm when the sun shines on them too - as it did all the time!

Nappyzone · 17/02/2008 20:09

oo ooo yeah!! we are stayingin a kingfisher too - me, dh a 5yr old and my ds who will be 20 mth by then - can i fit a travel cot in the master b room or should i risk chucking him in a bed? ooo i so excited now! Did it have an enclosed balcony for ds to run riot safely and can you cover the hot tub so he doesnt jump in?

Lucycat · 17/02/2008 20:46

yes the hot tub is covered, you just lift the cover off when you want to get in. The balcony has railings but you may need to use a chair to block the steps and you should be able to fit a travel cot in your room, at least we could have in ours - you can give the owners a ring to ask though, they were lovely people!

we might go back in October

Nappyzone · 17/02/2008 21:08

oh i all excited now!!! i searched all over for breaks in august to suit schools closing and they were like 700 - i rsng them direct and thought £400 wasnt to bad mon-fri compared to the £900+ center parcs wanted!!!

How old r your little people?
