Rail strikes question

Hi,

Booked to go London on 10th December. Strike planned for 11th. Booked for the final train back (10th) at 8:31pm. Just wondering will the train be super busy with no space to breathe as the rail strikes are planned for the next day? Im travelling with my 18mo and am very worried now tbh.

I once travelled from on the York-Blackpool route on a match day and I still have PTSD, little one was a still a newborn and it was absolutely awful. No space to stand and… the lot. Just scared i’ll have a similar experience so really I’m just hoping I’ll be told otherwise!

i think trains in and out of London are always busy so add in people trying to avoid a strike the next day and I fear you're unlikely to find it quiet! It might even get cancelled as the strikes can affect services on the days either side.

As above, you need to check that the train will even be running.
On the day immediately prior to previous strike days we were advised to leave work early as the later trains were not to be relied on.

you could do an upgrade to the class between standard and first

Thanks. I don’t mind doing that but I guess I was more worried about them being cancelled because if it is, I’m going to be doomed. I’ve contacted Avanti to see my options. Thanks everyone
