Taking my dd to Manchester for a night and will be staying Oxford Road area. Any ideas about cool places (a 17 year old's view) to eat?

If you want to eat in the Oxford Road area, then Mylahore. If you don’t mind going more central, then there’s Hard Rock and The Refuge. If you want to treat her, then I’d suggest Tattu or 20 Stories.

Define cool, are they pretty open minded with food?

I am Pho for Vietnamese, Platzki is a very cute little polish restaurant. The Allotment is a great vegan restaurant. Bundobust has a few locations and does great veggie Indian food.

You could go for Korean BBQ at Ban di Bul or Chinese Hotpot in China town if they like spice and you want something interactive.

Northern Quarter has loads of options; fried chicken at Yard and coop, pies at Pieminister, posh kebabs at BAB NQ (a lot better than it sounds).

Opposite side of the city but Mackie Mayor is a large trendy food hall with lots of independent restaurants, great if you want to eat different cuisines or try a few things, very buzzy too.

Some great suggestions here. 'Cool' would be quirky, probably funky interior.

Sunset by Australasia's interior is pure Instagram fodder. Think the food is ok too.

Bundobust on oxford road is Indian 'tapas'. Casual, bench seats but bright and buzzing atmosphere. Order 3 dishes each and share. Really nice food. Vadha Pav is my favourite. Like a giant potatoe croquette in a bun with red and green chilli sauce. Better than it sounds.
