Hi all, we are visiting London next week to see the Lion King for my daughters birthday.
What are your top tips for getting around. I have never been to London with the kids before just with friends.
We only have 3 days and want to fit as much in as possible
I'm thinking London eye and south bank up to tower bridge one day, Covent Garden and Oxford street on theatre day and that leaves one full day unplanned at the moment. Kids are 14 and 10 so not babies.
TIA

Depending on what their interests are, you could do something like a HP walking tour. At that age, my 2 spent ages in House of spells/minilima (sp) . You could walk up the Monument too.

Canal trip from little Venice to Camden market, through the back of London zoo, was always a full day for us, as Camden fascinated them.

Get the CityMapper app, so useful in seeing the best options - in central london it’s usually quicker to walk if you’re able to!
Oxford street is a bit run down I think, so depends if your kids really want to shop.
if you want some down time, go to Little Venice (north of Paddington) and walk along the canal, my favourite thing to do in london!

This place was a hit with my DC, got them off their phones www.inamo-restaurant.com Also, DC2 was desperate to get face printed on M&Ms at M&M World….

We just walked everywhere when we last visited. I used to living in London so am happy using the tube but there was no point as there’s something to see wherever you turn your head in London and it was nice for me to see how much some parts had changed since I lived there. Kids liked the King’s Road which I prefer as a shopping destination (though we did also go down Regents Street in our dash to Piccadilly, Trafalgar Sq, Parliament Sq and back to Victoria).

There is currently a free exhibition at the V&A about costumes from musicals. Has some of the Lion King ones on show.

🤩🤩🤩. I need to go!

Don’t get on or off the tube at Covent Garden, it’s crazily busy, the lifts are awful and Leicester Square tube is only 3 minutes walk away.

Just a heads up that Lyceum doesn’t take cash for anything, only cards.

Enjoy the show.

Definitely download city mapper app before you get here.

For child fares for your daughter (older one) you can get a normal Oyster card and ask staff at any underground station to program it to just charge child fares for the duration of your trip(they do this for you at the ticket machine) it will save you a fortune.

Mine love King’s Cross and the. Walk up to Camden via canal and then the floating Chinese restaurant on the regents canal.

Also Shoreditch, Spitalfields, Brick Lane etc for bagels and vintage shopping (and of course Urban Outfitters in Spitalfields).
