Lancing, Hove, Brighton - Recommendations for 5 yr old

Visiting Lancing with 5 yr old - could anyone recommend the best things to do with a 5 yr old in the area.

I've looked at various attractions in Brighton (sea world etc) but the negative reviews on trip advisor are putting me off so I thought I'd ask locals for insider tips.

The toy museum in Brighton is brilliant. There’s a massive model railway and some slot machines to play on, besides loads of other exhibits. Volk’s electric railway along the seafront is quite fun for kids. My dc also like the upside down house.

Well there isn’t an awful lot in Lancing but brooklands park is a nice lake for a stroll and there is a nice park at Beach Green and lovely restaurant. The promenade is a nice walk.

Shoreham has a good park beside the River adur, forever known by us as ‘spotty tunnel park’ but I think the spots have faded🤣

Brighton seafront has a lovely paddling pool and play park, the pier has some nice rides and there is volks railway to Brighton marina.

I took the dses to sea life centre a few times, it’s okay but expensive so better with Tesco vouchers.

Hove lagoon, Shoreham beach ( ferry road has an ice cream shop), Shoreham airport cafe to watch the small planes and helicopters, bramber castle - washbrooks farm, Worthing splash point park,

Brooklands in lancing js just having a makeover and the play ground is meant to be very good now. There's also a lot of ducks to feed.

Are you visiting now or coming soon? There's a pumpkin patch opening in north lancing in 2 weeks if you are around then.

Worthing swimming pool is also good for kids if you have bad weather and need to fill the time.

I would def avoid the sealife in Brighton unless you happen to have vouchers to heavily discount it.

Thank you so much folks for all these suggestions.

Just before Halloween, could be a good one if all the pumpkins aren't gone by then.

Went to sea world earlier in the year and although expensive, I think your DC would enjoy it.

Devils Dyke for the view and a walk.

Not a lot in Lancing, but Worthing or Goring has a nice beach, Drusillas at Alfriston is fab, not cheap though, Raystede at Ringmer is interesting to visit. Brighton Pier is popular, Brighton Museum & The Pavilion are nice to visit. Paradise Park at Newhaven would be ideal for a 5 year old, especially one that likes dinosaurs, the planet earth exhibition is great. Also a large garden centre and cafe. Cuckmere haven is also great for a walk. Hove lagoon is popular too.
