Accommodation near Edinburgh

Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for good accommodation in or around Edinburgh? We need parking. I'm looking for two adults and one teen. Ideally a hotel, but would also go self catering.
I looked at the Dalmahoy Hotel which I have stayed at before but the TripAdvisor reviews are very poor. Thanks !

Budget? What time of year? Varies wildly!

Try Marriott Courtyard on the Herriot-Watt uni Campus. It’s got free parking. Buses every 10 mins into the city well into the night. All day tickets available. Whole bus system in Edinburgh seemed really good.

The Dalmahoy is a bit of nuisance if you want to actually visit Edinburgh as you’d have to drive to the park & ride to get into the city centre.
there’s an ibis, Novotel and premier inn at Edinburgh park which is a slightly soulless business park but it does tend to be cheaper (probably cos of less business travellers at the moment) and it’s right on the tram and train line into the city centre.
the hotels at the airport (moly, Hampton by Hilton and Hilton doubletree) have parking but you’d be paying the premium airport bus or tram rates into the city from there.
within the bypass you’ve got the Marriott on Glasgow road, village hotel at Crewe toll, holiday inn by the zoo and holiday inn express at craigleith. All are on good bus routes or you could walk into town from the village and craigleith. There’s a holiday inn or HIexpress at Leith too and a premier inn at Newhaven.
Marriott at the Herriot watt campus but the bus takes quite a while into the city from there.
kings Manor at Brunstane is a bit further out but on Edinburgh bus routes and not too far from brunstane station.

Buses from Leith and Newhaven are a nightmare at the moment due to the tram works, so I would not recommend there.

Sorry, that would've been helpful!! October half term, budget about £700 for 4 nights

Thanks for the suggestion so far – I'll take a look at those after work

You can check bus routes here www.lothianbuses.com/maps-and-times/network-maps/
It's £1.80 single fare to anywhere within the city network (excluding the airport) or it caps at £4.40 per day if you pay by contactless card. Kids are cheaper if he's 15 or under.
Your other option is to leave the car at a park & ride car park (you can park on them all for free overnight apart from Ingliston by the airport) and stay in the city centre if that's where you'll be sightseeing.

I’d go for the holiday inn at the Zoo. Bus stop right outside and around 15-20 minutes into city centre and they have parking.
