Afternoon tea in Bath

I've gone down a tripadvisor rabbit hole trying to find the best place for afternoon tea in Bath next weekend!
I'm travelling with my older teen daughter and as I'm a big Jane Austen fan thought I'd have it at the Regency Rooms above the Jane Austen Museum, but someone suggested the Pump Rooms and another said Browns - ugh which one? My daughter will want to ask them to leave out the mustard etc so which would be amenable to that sort of thing?
Anyone have a favourite afternoon tea venue there? We're on foot so needs to be fairly central. Thanks!

The Royal Crescent hotel does a lovely afternoon tea- it's easily walkable from the city centre. I wouldn't go to a chain like Browns, I would try one of the local places.

Sweet Little Things is fantastic.

I went to the pump room - was nice but not been too any others in Bath to compare it too.

Pump rooms was lovely when we went. Had a string quartet playing as well.

Another vote for The Pump Rooms!

Sally Lunns instead

Those who recommended it think the Royal Crescent is worth £39/head?

I'd say so, yes. (Wasn't as much as that as pre lockdown). Service and afternoon tea were absolutely amazing

Depends on your budget! Royal Crescent is amazing but v £££ (worth it for a special occasion). Pump Rooms is right in the heart of the city and they have a trio playing live so it's a lovely atmosphere. Personally I find Sweet Little Things a bit OTT with the whole pink flowery thing, but you might be into that! The cafe at the Jane Austen Centre is small but nice and the waiting staff are in costume. Some other options: The Ivy and The Bird. Have a lovely time 😀

Update!
We went for the Pump Room as I originally planned to do it after our tour of the Baths, we couldn't get in that day (went the next morning) but frankly we walked around all day so couldn't see ourselves trekking up to the Royal Crescent. Plus the added bonus of just having watched the 1995 version of Persuasion (we were staying in the hotel they filmed it) and the Pump Room is in several scenes.
It was my daughter's favourite tea ever (and we are real aficionados). Service was impeccable. Two points though - the savoury selection was verging on mean. We could have easily down with twice the amount. The scones were lovely but not enough clotted cream or jam for three, let alone four scones. The cakes are always hot or miss depending on taste - here two definitely not as good and two yummy, but I'd have sacrificed half of them for more sandwiches!
The music was excellent, but stopped after 45 minutes then a pianist arrived 15 minutes later. I think this is a big issue. The music provides atmosphere and professionals could surely play the whole service, and they could have handled the changeover much more smoothly.
However, overall a super tea (we though it would do for supper too but were peckish after 7pm).
