Cruise during covid

Hi,
I am going on a cruise with my soon to be nearly 2 year old...I'm wondering about how we get around the fact if her not having a covid vaccination? Has anyone done this? Or can tell me what we would do? TIA

Children don’t need to be vaccinated for cruises (at least the ones I’ve been on/looked at). The my will have different requirements for unvaccinated and vaccinated passengers which will be on their website. It does get a bit complicated reading it all sometimes but they are starting to relax some of the rules now. They will likely need a test before boarding but even vaccinated passengers usually need that. Like I say, it will depend on the cruise line as well as country of departure.

In fact if they’re under 2 they might not even need a test. What cruise line is it?

dementedpixie · 03/08/2022 07:33

Are they even offering a vaccine to that age group? I doubt they will need a test or a vaccine. Have you checked the T&Cs of the cruise?

Depends on the cruise and the countries visiting but usually under 5s don’t need to be vaccinated

Travelling with Disney Cruise lines. I know she can't have the vaccine but more was wondering about testing to be taken

European Disney departures

looks like the info you need is here for European sailings, it always requires some in depth reading unfortunately! We have done RC and celebrity so I know those ones now like the back of my hand! You’ll probably find there’s a some really helpful Facebook groups too.

If its this then it says testing needs to be done on under 4s as they don't get offered the vaccine

Disney Cruise requirements are still pretty strict. You should have had emails from them depending on how soon is soon. But as the link above says under 4 doesn’t need a vaccine but they do need two tests. One before departure and one at the port. You will also need to make an account with Prenetics and upload your certificates and you will also need a test before cruising (but not one at the port assuming you are vaxxed)

I'm going on a cruise end if August with Celebrity. We are all vaccinated and have to do a certified test up to 72 hours before. You are responsible for being aware of the requirements which are on the relevant websites and when you check in they will probably ask you to upload your evidence of vaccinations.
I'd get on to booking your tests as there were not that many slots available and we booked 27 days ahead. There were no tests available near where my son lives so he has to do one near the cruise terminal the day we travel. I imagine the line for testing at the terminal will be long so we are doing it off site.
The ports we are going to do not require any of this it's the fact cruise ship are being super cautious! I'm terrified one of us will test positive (none of us have had covid so far).
