.....Where would it be? Where is your favourite place in Cornwall? Any secret places you have found that you would love to move to?

i live in Penzance, tis nice enough!

i wouldn't like to move, although you have to travel to get decent clothes etc.

The Lizard Peninsula. We holiday there every year and love it.Fantastic coves and beaches.
Would probably live in Mullion as it is a lovely village with eveything you need.

jumpingbeans · 17/01/2008 12:33

Polperro, it's loverly, I go there in my head all the time

OrmIrian · 17/01/2008 12:34

Fowey. Lamorna. Mousehole.

But all of them are ridiculously busy and expensive.

Artichokes · 17/01/2008 12:35

The tiny village of Treen near lands end. I love it. You walk from there out across fields onto cliffs and then scramble down to the most stunning beach in the world. Because it is so hard to get to it is rarely busy (you literally have rock climb to get in and out). There are other, more accessible beaches and walks all around. I love it. Living there would be quite isolating I think, even though Penzance is about 20mins drive away.

I would only buy in a small village like that if I intended to live there. People buying holidays homes can destroy such small communities.

Well yes fio! There are many places. I tried to persuade DH to move there a few years ago during a particularly lovely holiday - he's a carpenter so skills transferable anywhere. I wondered about my company letting me work from home every day . But he wasn't prepared to live so far away from anywhere. fOR 'anywhere' read Upton Park .

St Ives, bliss, I buy my lottery ticket purely for winning enough for a St Ives house! We go every year, I love the beaches, the size of the town, the coastal path walk, and the general arts/crafts/painting vibe.

My little dream .....

Compromise with Devon. Not as far from everywhere else but still lots of coast and moors and forests. Loads of nice places to live too.

bohemianbint · 17/01/2008 15:44

Anywhere north coast for me!

bossykate · 17/01/2008 15:45

lamorna, porthcurno, anywhere on the coast between st ives and land's end, rock, polzeath, padstow - all of cornwall actually, i'd just buy it all

Karen999 · 17/01/2008 15:47

St Agnes. Its a lovely little village and close to the beach and they have fab little shops and pubs!

Lauriefairycake · 17/01/2008 15:49

Trebarwith Strand on the north coast - just totally idyllic - if you're feeling flush (understatement of the century) there is a house on rightmove there for £695k

Lauriefairycake · 17/01/2008 15:50

and Boscastle too.........

mcnoodle · 17/01/2008 15:55

Gorran Haven (south of Mevagissy).

Mawnan Smith (Helford River)

St Mawgan Village (The Best Cream Tea and the North Coast)

bohemianbint · 17/01/2008 15:56

Just having a cheeky peek at properties down there - they're all bloomin wooden holiday homes or caravans for proper house prices!

Immaculateconception · 17/01/2008 20:56

I used to live in Penzance scorpio, good luck for the wedding on Saturday, where are you getting married? Would have to agree with Mullion or Gunwalloe, have lots of friends in Mullion and my lovely doctor was in the centre.
