I am thinking of taking my 7yr old to Centre Parcs fri- mon in aug, just me and her.
The apartments with little kitchen look good and affordable. Will i get bored just me and her? Obviously she will love the swimming pool but what else will we do?! I like to be busy and have things planned. Thanks!

You won’t be bored, there’s so much to do!

I took a 10 and 6 year old in January. Hired bikes, went bowling, rollerskating and to adventure golf. We swam every day, an evening swim is nice. We didn’t get bored, we ate in the lodge at breakfast and lunch and had an evening meal out. We could’ve done lots more but was glad we didn’t, nice to play cards/games and relax too.

I doubt your daughter will get bored but it’s very family orientated so I’ve never seen many single sole parents, so you might.

Im a single parent but I go to CP with friends or family. But I have traveled abroad with my Ds on a few holidays.

Have a look at single parent travel club on Facebook.. it’s a private group but they sometimes have single parents going on holiday there.

hope that helps

I've been to the apartments on my own with DD lots and I'd recommend it. Loads to do and we used to bring a games console and nice food with us, then eat out a couple of times, swim once or twice a day and do the activities she liked. I think it's one of the places you can go as a parent on your own with a child and not feel weird around the double parent families.

I've taken my DD twice although she is 13 now, so a little older. We loved staying in the little apartment.

Given that the pool is going back to unrestricted access if that's a big draw for your DD you will be fine! We hired bikes and loved cycling round and there's lots of free activities like treasure hunts and nature trails as well as all the paid for activities.

We had a DVD player in our apartment but I forgot to take any films so would recommend doing that as the WiFi was a bit sketchy for streaming stuff. Plus games, books, crafts for bad weather...

Thank you! Being a single parent is hard in terms of going away. I havent done it before on my own but really want to take her as a treat and surprise.
I already like the idea of pottery painting, cupcake making and tree top climbing.
Does anyone know if you can take your own paddleboard?

I don't think you can take your own SUP / kayak etc. Definitely never seen any.

I've done Whinfell with just me and ds2 staying in the little apartments.
Took our bikes and did swimming for free, plus the play parks.
Hired kayak on the lake, did short tennis in the indoor sports hall and crazy golf. Went to the falconry show, all of which cost extra, but fairly reasonable.
The times we went on our own he was a teenager, but still loved it.
