Beaches in Cumbria/Lake District

Looking at going away for a week in the summer holidays - we have 3 young children. Had a look at beaches in Cumbria, thought Haverigg looked nice but then read about sinking sand and had horrible visions of my very active toddler 😂 Does anyone know much about beaches in the area? Just looking for a sandy beach, not too busy - kids will paddle but not at swimming stage yet. A few amenities nearby is good.

There are lakes and waterfalls you can paddle and swim in but you sort of need to know where you are going. I know southern lakes pretty well and parts of Coniston Water near the boat house, Tarn Hows, Blea Tarn and Church Beck are doable on a hot day for a dunk but I wouldn't take very small children as its variable and rocky and slippy underfoot. Swim shoes a necessity!

Lots of blue-collar green alge in many of the lakes at the mo , deadly for dogs and warning s up for no swimming.

Nothing against the Lakes with little one, just not the right time for us at the moment. We have a 3 year old and 20 month old twins. Vast spaces are their favourite thing, being told which way to go definitely isn't. We've learned that the hard way 🤦
