We are off to North Norfolk in a few days and would like some personal recommendations for places to visit. It will just be two adults who enjoy walking, nature, interesting places, National Trust etc. I have the NT guide book and access to google, but it is nice to get actual recommendations from people.

Thank you in advance

And top tip is to book before you eat out or you won't get in!

Cley Marshes
Holkham beach and hall
Castle Acre

So many eatery's..
White Horse
Lifeboat at Thornham
Wiverton Hall
Frenchies chippy
Back to the Garden
Creake Abbey
Dun Cow
Byfords
Dabbling Duck

The list is endless but here's a favourite few of mine

Park at Wells or Holkham and walk along the beach or the coastal path to the other. If you fancy a bit extra take in Holkham Hall where there is a deer park. Cafés at Wells, Holkham beach and Holkham Hall.
Be aware that some of the more popular restaurants need to be booked well ahead at the weekends.

All the places mentioned plus We love Plattens chippy in Wells and often eat at Kings Arms Blakeney. Have never needed to book so far. Take waterproof trousers etc for walks. We always take a picnic too. Love the walk thru sheringham park to the poppy line train station, cant remember the name. You often see the steam train go thru with the sea as the backdrop. Have a great trip!

Go on a seal watching boat trip. We’ve been with Beans Boats twice. Book in advance and arrive early because sometimes the car park at Morston Quay can be busy. Car parking is free for all NT members. The Anchor Inn at Morston is really good.

Brancaster- lovely walk to the beach, around the hall then jolly sailor's for lunch

RampantIvy · 20/05/2022 09:39

Thank you. We did the seals boat trip last time we were there, and Holkham. We stayed in Wells-next-the-Sea and loved it.

Packing my leggings now because they dry quickly.

Sandringham House and Estate makes a nice day trip. They’ve got a special jubilee exhibition on and you can get the best cream teas there!

Thank you again for your recommendations. We have managed to visit a lot of places on the lists on this thread - some when we visted Norfolk a few years ago.
We have had a lovely trip and will no doubt return again.
