Recommendations for luxe UK holiday

We've not got round to ordering younger DC passport yet as we weren't going to bother going abroad this year but suddenly madly envious of all my colleagues talking about their holidays. Given the current delays we've got zero chance of getting the passport sorted in time so decided instead to blow the budget on a fabulous holiday in the UK. Question is where? Can anyone recommend any outstanding hotels or holiday rentals or even resorts (do they exist in uk, perhaps on south coast?) We have 2x DC under 4 so needs to be family friendly and I reckon they'd like a trip to the beach if that was possible. Budget is up to £5k. Thanks!

I would love to know this to just before the airport hassle

Watergate Bay

Gara Rock

but they get booked up extremely early and your generous £5k budget won’t go that far….

Isle of Wight.

There are some lovely holiday rentals there. It feels like you're abroad because you go on the ferry. It has loads of Sandy beaches. Tons for children to do. Easy to get around.

Perfect family holiday.

Fabulous idea. Never been there! Would definitely add a sense of occasion to travel on a ferry

@hearmywomanlyroar I would be tempted to apply for passport, you maybe pleasantly surprised. Ours took about 4 weeks including a photo rejection and I do believe the Media are hyping it up a bit!

I have heard the Manor and Ashbury Hotels are supposed to be lovely and very family friendly!

I’d apply for a passport and book last minute

We’ve been here and it’s excellent. Also check out Another Place in Ullswater.

I also recommend the Isle of Wight.

My family live there. It is beautiful. Lovely clean beaches, plenty of activities for the children. Pretty villages and good quality places to eat out.

You will find some amazing accommodation.

Right I'm going to do both - book a mid week break early summer and apply for passport asap and all being well do something last minute in august. Thanks so much for the advice!

Burgh Island

Karma st martins on the Isles of Scilly. We visited the islands last year (not that hotel, out of our price range) and it is such a special place.
