Hello
Can anyone recommend any historical towns, cities, villages to visit in England please? Places with lots of history, old buildings, interesting stories. We’re in the south west but willing to travel

Lavenham in Suffolk. One of the most historic, and best preserved, towns in the country.

I lived in Bath for years so will leave that off list, alongxwith York and salisbury and winchester - all of which would be on my list

My picks would be

Chester
Windsor
Canterbury
Rye
Norwich
Harrogate
Newcastle/Durham
Liverpool
Edinburgh
Cambridge/Ely
Bury st Edmunds
