CBeebies Land tips?

Laney79 · 13/03/2022 09:53

I'm thinking of taking my two year old (two years three months) to CBeebies land in April...

Anyone been recently? Any top tips of things to do/take or avoid? He's not been to many places thanks to Covid -just a couple of local farm attractions so it'll be very different for him!

Im not intending to take a pushchair...mistake? Take a picnic or is food decent/reasonably priced?

Thanks!

CBeebiesland is just an area within Alton Towers, rather than a separate place. So you will have access to all of the eateries, etc within the main resort. It's very typical theme park fodder. Alton towers does have a fair bit of open space, so if the weather is nice, you could picnic there if you don't mind carrying bags.

And yes, for a theme park I'd take, or hire, a pushchair. Whilst the CBeebies bit is close to the entrance there are long walks elsewhere and the car park is a distance too unless you pay for priority parking. It can be a fairly long day.

Go in term time and arrive early is my advice! There are nice play areas in the CBeebies land area as well as the little rides and shows, so should be plenty to do. The queues do get ridiculous when it's busy 🤦‍♀️

Have you been to Alton towers before? In case you don't know, you park in a carpark quite far out and then board a monorail (or you can walk) that takes you to the entrance. CBeebies land is a short walk from the entrance, but other areas are very spread out.

Yes take the pushchair, then you will have access to the rest of the park after CBeebies world. There are restaurants, a sea world and other child friendly activities in the rest of the park but it's too big to make him walk round all day. And if he naps in the buggy you can walk yourself somewhere more interesting

Thanks all. He's very independent so I wasn't planning on taking the buggy but sounds like that might be a mistake. We'd be going with my disabled (visually impaired) dad so will have blue badge for parking...I assume that would be near the entrance? Thanks!

Watching with interest. We're thinking of taking a 5 and 3 year old but may stay in the CBeebies hotel for one night. Is parking there any better?

If staying at the hotel you will be parking in the hotel car park then get the monorail to the theme park. When we stayed at the hotel a perk is that you get early access to the park (half an hour) which was brilliant to avoid the queues!

Measure your child beforehand. There were so many rides our child couldn't go on because he wasn't quite tall enough when we went a couple of years ago. I was surprised because the area is aimed at toddlers but to ride a lot of the rides, children have to be taller than i expected.
I found Peppa Pig World to be much better value for a younger child.

Every time we've been the queues have been pretty long. 20-30mins typically which is a long time for a little one. Take snacks & the odd toy if you can.
