Disabled Access Hotels - holiday with profile beds

Evening. Does anyone know of a hotel that has good disabled access and rooms with profile beds and a wet room? My sisters and mum where looking to go on a much needed cruise but my twin is just not up for it. She suffers from MS (secondary progressive)
and is a wheelchair user. We are trying to find a UK holiday instead. Ideally not more than a few hours away from Surrey. One with a spa/pool would be a great added bonus. We have been researching but any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Smile

revitalise.org.uk/respite-holidays/ the lovely mum of a friend of mine who had MS used this company more than once, she used to love it. Not sure if that helps?

Thanks Beacon this might come in handy but we were hoping for more of a spa so hotels that have a disabled room or villa section. This place is certainly helpful though thank you for replying.

Have you tried looking on this website

A friend with MS goes to Center Parcs with her family as the disabled accommodation has an electric bed and also things like hoists in the bathroom. She mentioned that they have accessible worktops for wheelchair users in the kitchen too. They tend to go in term time and during the week so it is quieter.

Worth a try although I am not sure if the electric beds are the same as a profile bed!

This hotel in Bournemouth has profiling beds - and a pool but I don't know how accessible that is.

Royal Caribbean can provide all the equipment she needs - I know someone who went with them. I think they had to rent some of it but it is worth investigating

💛 thanks for the replies. Anymore suggestions are welcome. I really want to help make this special. She's in so much pain all day every day and now that the cruise is out I want it to be the best it can be on land. Thanks again everyone.

Hi, maybe look for a charity/organisation for a particular condition/ illness, not just the MS Society. They may do a magazine or newsletter with privates ads for accommodation - property owners who have adapted their own properties and let it out
Have a look on FB groups, Property Owners SCI (spinal cord injury).
Make a list of her AM and PM personal care routine, ie, getting out of bed, shower/bath/bedwash, do you need a hoist or rotunda to do a turning transfer from bed to wheelchair if your sister can weight bear.
Take enough medication plus a bit extra, copy of perscription, research A&E, hospital, GPs before and make up an information wallet. Local wheelchair accessible taxis. Think of charity groups/ Red Cross to hire equipment. Think worse case scenario and plan how you will all avoid or get out of it. Share the workload (mentally prep beforehand. Involve your sister so she feels in control, may lessen any anixety. Be respectful but not bashful...preparation is everything. I went away with care clients who would request ABs from the GP if they were likely to get a UTI. Get on chat boards, there is a wealth of information out there. Don't expect it to be perfect but get everyone to muck in, contribute in some way. If they are squeamish about the toilet side, give them a tech type job to do. Hope you have a brilliant time and best wishes to your sister. x

I have seconding progressive MS & I’m looking for an accessible hotel in Bournemouth with a profiling bed & wet room as I would dearly like to go to a friends wedding. Does anyone know of a hotel like this? It is always a challenge but I hope you may have a few suggestions?
Many thanks for your help x
