I'm spending way too long googling , so thought I would ask some experts 😀 Doing a theme park tour in August - Thorpe , Chessington & Legoland in August going to go for 4 days . Which town would be nice to stay in ? Looking for one where there is some nice places to visit , nice restaurants, maybe a good park etc. Myself , Dh, FIL and ds9. Chertsey, Cobham, Guildford or none of these ? It's an area of the country I have never been to before.

It's outer london so all the areas merge - sort of giant built up area. You will not be anywhere tiny and desolate 😊.

@OutlookStalking ah yes I forget what it's like in other parts of the country 😂, here it's just villages and towns with just fields in between, places don't merge at all.

We stayed at the de vere Windsor, not posh but had free breakfast if you joined their loyalty scheme so a bargain at £60. Was in the middle of renovations

It has mixed reviews, but the Thames Lodge in Staines is right on the river for early morning walks, an outside seating area and has a car park. I've never stayed there however.

Staines or Egham

My parents have stayed at Thames Lodge and they liked it.

Another place to think of is The Swan Hotel on the Egham/Thorpe side of the river. They have a lovely terrace, and you can catch a bus to Thorpe Park a few metres away.

Oooh thank you , hotel recommendations will have a look at lunch time thank you . @gogohm we aren't posh so would feel out of place somewhere that was 😀

Windsor would be good to stay in as lots to do there including the castle and not much of a drive to Thorpe Park or Chessington. There is a Holiday Inn express and a Travelodge in central Windsor so would be the cheaper options.

@gogohm do you mean De Vere Beaumont estate hotel ?
