I want to take my 11year old and 12 year old for a few days. My daughter is studying shakespear and is very enthusiastic!

Any tips about where to stay or what are the must see/do things?

Thank you!

We stayed in Premier Inn Waterways which is just outside of the town centre by the canal. There is limited parking on site or you can park at the station car park behind the hotel. This hotel turned out to be a bit of a gem and I'd highly recommend. It was clean with friendly staff and just a 5 minute (easy) stroll into the town centre.
My children enjoyed Shakespeare’s Birthplace the most while I loved Anne Hattaway’s Cottage.
There’s a shop entirely dedicated to Christmas and another shop called Magic Alley which my dc enjoyed. The MAD museum and Tudor World were also really good.
We took the train to Warwick and spent a day at the castle. Journey only took half an hour each way.

The walking tour is a must and try to book tickets for a show as they sell out

It’s worth keeping an eye on the RSC website for children’s workshops . Shakespeare’s birthplace (and the gift shop with some great Shakespeare-related souvenirs) well worth a visit .

We really enjoyed Bistrot Pierre restaurant: they have some good early bird set meals.

We stayed at the Travelodge which had some parking and is approx ten minutes from the centre. Enjoy!

We stayed at the YHA hostel- short drive away from the centre and really nice - has a games room. We did the Shakespeare houses - the guides there are great - wandered around a bit and did Warwick Castle the following afternoon. Similar age children and they enjoyed it.

My DD loved the backstage tour of the theatre

The costumed guide outside Tudor World is brilliant and great with all ages

We stayed in one of the glamping pods at the youth hostel, just on the edge of town. We absolutely loved the MAD museum, and can recommend the amazing hot choc at the 40s themed cafe.

Not Shakespeare related, but if you like butterflies the butterfly garden is fabulous!

Butterfly garden is lovely.
Book Restaurants - they get busy.
There is a cat cafe and a good sized Lakeland.
Maybe see what is on a the theatre.
