We're planning to fly from Edinburgh to London the first week of April with 3 of our DC (8, 12 and 15).

I was going to just book a Premier Inn, but wondered if anyone had any other recommendations, or even a suggestion of which Premier Inn is best? I don't want to use Airbnb as we've not used it before and I'd be nervous about something going wrong when we've got the kids with us.

Which attractions are must see/worth paying for? We are happy to walk/use public transport and are hoping for a mix of free and paid for days out.

If anyone could suggest the best airport to fly into too, that would be brilliant.

Thanks in advance. Smile

The Design Museum is on Kensington High St, easily visitable when you go to South Kensington on Day 3 - it’s also next door to lovely Holland Park, which has beautiful gardens. The cafe there isn’t what it was but there are plenty of eating options on Kensington High St, including a massive Whole Foods store (not cheap but worth a tour as it’s so vast…I don’t think their upstairs cafe is open again yet but they sell takeaway food downstairs).

That would all take you in the other direction to Harrods etc but might be another option if you wanted to explore a bit.

You’re also not a million miles from Portobello Road market if you wanted to try that - lots of street-food options there. Might be a bit much to cram into one day, though, you could easily spend the whole time in the two museums you’re visiting!

I am also visiting London around that time. Would anyone recommend (or not) the hop on hop off bus tour? Will be 5 of us in total so it works out quite expensive. Thanks a million

Try TKTS online for cheap theatre tickets to purchase on the day. Also, if you have them, use Tesco vouchers in so e restaurants. You get 3x the value - £10 in vouchers equates to £30 worth of food excluding drinks. Search online for 2 for 1 offers for London.

I agree with @Caulidop we have used premier inn a lot but kids rooms are often a long way from us - older teens though so okay.
