Premier Inn London Kings Cross or County Hall

Planning to stay at Easter, 4 nights, want somewhere fairly central as planning to go to Natural History Museum, Matilda the Musical plus sightseeing Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Tower of London etc. Lots of premier inns already sold out for our dates but Kings Cross & County Hall both available. Which is better located for restaurants/things to do in the early evening? Thanks

Sorry forgot to add, yes there is some building work but I only knew this from posters up in the lift. I didn't hear or see any work and certainly wasn't disrupted by any
