Nice places to stay in Cotswolds?

I'm planning a family staycation this summer for my birthday and would love to stay in the Cotswolds for a few nights. I'm looking for "naice" places, happy to pay a bit extra for a great stay as we havnt had a holiday since 2019! I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old, as well so a child friendly hotel/bnb etc please!

Thanks

Cowley Manor or Calcot and Spa

Broadway is lovely, full of quaint shops and nice pubs. And lots of walks nearby like Broadway Tower.

Bourton on the Water again very similar, and there's a few things for youngsters.

Cirencester water park (South Cerney) is made up of lots of man made lakes, and there are some nice hotels/houses to let around it. And a man made beach with play area.

And Cheltenham has some lovely hotels, good shopping and lots of bars/restaurants. Ellenborough Park is gorgeous, the Greenway at Shurdington and town hotels like Malmaison or The Queens.

We stayed in the Grist Mill on the beautiful Owlpen Manor estate and they have a variety of other places to stay there (not B&B but lovely lunches/dinners if you wish):

I love the fish. The treehouses sleep 4 but they are probably fully booked for 2022 by now

Calcot manor has a lovely spa and nice restaurant. Went there whilst heavily pregnant with DS2 and was throughly spoilt.

We also loved the Fish.

Another option is the Wild Rabbit, it's more a 'restaurant with rooms' but many of the 'rooms' are beautiful cottages. V child friendly, we have a two year old too. Lots to do in the local area.

@BoodleBug51 is the water park really massive? There seems to be lots of options of places to rent there but just wondering if it's rammed.

Oooh can I piggy back please OP? Was just about to start a similar thread.

We're looking for somewhere in the Cotswolds not too far from Leicestershire (1.5 hrs tops is ideal). Ideally a house or cottage (somewhere nice and home from home) with our own parking. We like to ditch the car as much as possible so a few lovely walks with maybe bus routes into a nearby town but definitely not somewhere we need to drive everyday for stuff to do. Nice pubs, cafes essential!

I did find somewhere in South Cerney but other than the water sports element - which isn't us at all unless the lakes are pretty enough for nice walks - is there much else close by?

What's Cirencester like? Looks quite historic which we like.
