@Etherealhedgehog

Also, not fancy at all, but there's a proper old school on bakery on Essex Road - on the left as you walk down towards Angel - that does the best piece of Tottenham Cake!
Raab's!!!! Formally Vinn's! Yes, best Tottenham cake around. I've moved far away from Islington but my Dad brings me Tottenham cake from Raab's whenever he visits (we call it his passport as he's not allowed to visit without it Grin)

@ESGdance oh fab, I live one road down from Rosebery Avenue so you’ll be so close to everywhere I mentioned!
For a really casual croissant and coffee you can’t beat Pophams although it does get super busy at weekends.
Brother Marcus on Camden Passage is good and I also love Granger and co on Sekforde St for breakfast.
There’s a caravan and a Gail’s on Exmouth Market and also a nice coffee shop called Briki.
I haven’t had brunch at Bourne and Hollingsworth but I love it there so pretty sure it would be good.
Forgot to say, restaurant wise there is Quality Chop House on Farringdon Rd which is great too.
Oh and never been for brunch/breakfast but Coin Laundry on Exmouth Market might be worth a look too.
Have a great time! You’re spoiled for choice!

I have fond memories of Smokehouse at the north end of Islington.

Also, Ottolenghi on Upper St.

Heading south from there, Exmouth Market has some cool bars and restaurants.

Loved reading this - all my knowledge is 15 years out of date, so nice to see what's still there and what isn't.

We had our wedding lunch at Fredericks! Used to love Ottolenghi for lunch and Euphorium Bakery for pastries. Also loved Ruby in the Dust back in the early 00s.

Pub with big garden - was it the Canonbury
