Morning all

We are going to the Leek area for New Year (renting a picturesque cottage! So excited), with my DH and 2 year old.

Does anyone have any recommendations for local things to do please that are toddler friendly?

Not worried about the weather we will wrap up & go unless there is torrential rain.

Thanks in advance!

Pleasant circular walk around Rudyard Lake. There is a mini railway, check the timetable

Walk around Tissington lake

Explore the Roaches (with sturdy walking boots & walking gear)

Walk along Caldon canal to Froghall

Further afield you have Stoke, Bakewell, Buxton

Titteswirth reservoir. There is a light trail at trentham gardens and loads to do there. Peak wildlife park. Bakewell and Chatsworth house all decorated for christmas.

Buxton has Little Rascals soft play and also a child friendly cafe in the park. It's 30 mins by car from Leek - good if really too wet/cold to be outside and some toddler energy needs an outlet.

There's a woodland walk up the hill to Solomon's Temple (30 min walk) at Grin Low Woods.

Hope you have a lovely time!

Leek is nice - lots of antique type shops where bargains may be had if you're into that (or possibly not with a toddler!)

Bakewell and Buxton both good for feeding ducks.

Bakewell has a great bakery selling homity pies which are fab for a winter picnic.
