Butlins half term

I had booked butlins for my 11 year old and myself for half term

I have repeatedly contacted them to see when we could book activities and told too early and we would get an email when available

Guess what - no email and now nothing is available - no shows, sports or activities

We have booked mon- Fri 25th and I'm now seriously considering cancelling

We got a good deal as I booked in March but its still at if all we can do is swimming in a cold crowded pool

Anyone been (skegness) who can help me see the light

Oh that's awful. If you do cancel have you got a plan B?

Have managed to book some paid for activities - laser quest etc and remember there is a cinema but it's not quite what I had planned

Live and learn

We went over summer.

There was still lots of places available at the evening shows.

People could also queue up in a second queue in case people didnt turn up. And people were always let in.

Also theres was a circus running too, it was great. Ypu have to pay a bit extra for this.
They have shows running in the skyline pavilion twice a day at least and possibly some shorter shows earlier in the day, you dont need to book for these. Just sit at a table at the pavilion but unless you're early it gets busy.

We dont usually do the paid for activities so couldn't comment on those.

That’s odd. We’re going to Skegness Butlin’s on 22nd October. Our “you can book” email was on 8th October.

The evening shows open up on the app at 9 daily again to book more .
There are also apparently 2 queues at shows - booked and non booked. It sounds like you'll still get in to things.

We went in September. I wouldn’t bother so much about booking stuff in future tbh. With all the shows if you booked, the que started an hour before they let people in, but you could join the no ticket que and get in just after the ticket people. Only worth being at the front of the first que if you want front row seats! Totally worth turning up for any activity and seeing if there is space, plus people often cancel on the morning or just before and so you can snag a ticket just before quite often.
I’d just rock up to what you want to do rather than rushing about joining lines in advance. There’s loads you don’t have to book, fair, swimming etc so there will likely always be something to do.

Thanks guys feeling much better about it all now. As long as I keep my son busy (and off the ipad for a bit) I will be 😊
