York what to do for the weekend

I’ve been to York many times and I’m going with family (adults) for a weekend. In the past I’ve loved visiting Cliffords Tower, the Castle Museum, been to Jorvik and the dungeons, walked the walls and visited the Cathedral and of course the shambles.

Does anyone have ideas of things to do, are there any ghost walks or the like that are recommended, any good day time walks, just looking for ideas of things I have missed in the past or interesting places to visit and do.

Also good places to eat we will be eating out both evenings but happy to have day time recommendations for something a little bit nice or different.

I’ve googled but was hoping for a bit of knowledge. We won’t have a car.

We had a night in York over the bank holiday weekend. We've been a fair few times before as we're only an hour or so away & have done the usual museums / Jorvik, etc. We didn't really have long there this time so mainly shopped, ate & did a lot of walking / people watching! The Jorvik centre (I think) were doing walking tours - this week's was York in the time of Richard III - DP and I quite fancied that but DS not keen so we didn't do it (next time!). Bloody Tour of York gets good ratings but was all booked up when we were there.

I found a few threads on here with recommendations for eating out - ended up at Ambiente (tapas) which a few people had mentioned. We went to the one on Fossgate as Goodramgate was booked up in the evening. Food and atmosphere was great, definitely would go back.

Then we had breakfast next door at the Blue Barbakan - it's a Polish restaurant, but we had a full english. Hadn't booked so we were in the basement but the food was fab and we loved the building. Again, we said we'd go back & sample the Polish food.

Second the House of trembling madness & have enjoyed Evil Eye & another gin bar I can't remember the name of when we've been previously. There was some sort of pop up place in a container en route to our hotel which was busy whenever we walked past.

Ooh thanks I haven’t heard of any of these.
