Cornwall and Devon. In November… where would you stay? Open to staying in up to 2 different spots I think. But they need to be a bit special, DHs significant birthday while we are away.

I know this wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea but we enjoy bracing, and we (I) enjoy low season.
Not worried about cold / wet weather :) especially if we’ve got a banging itinerary

We’ll have 2 small DC with us (1&3)

We’ve always stayed north coast, most recently at a watergate bay.

Basically any AMAZING recommendations of you’re fave spots welcome :) I know the area has a lot to offer but I’m getting bogged down reading online and would like some real loved family holiday recommendations.

Hotels / cottages / days out / activities / little leg friendly hikes / places to eat- the works, anything welcome.

Thank you MN

We've just got back from our annual trip to Beer near Sidmouth. A really lovely part of Devon. The kids had a day out at Wildwood Escot which they absolutely loved. We also went for lunch to Heron Farm which has a play area and some animals. There's lots to do there.

The cabins at Deerpark are really cosy in the winter. www.forestholidays.co.uk/locations/cornwall/deerpark/ The park is really well located for lots of good days out. There’s a bar and restaurant on site if you don’t want to cook, and a play area too! You can also book extra experiences like in-cabin spa treatments and a personal chef.

In cabin spa sounds delightful right now! Thanks will check that out

Hi,

We’ve had lots of holidays in South Devon, since our DD1 was 18mo (she is now 14 and DD2 is 8). It is one of our absolutely favourite places. We always stay just outside Dartmouth in Hillfield Village. It’s a collection of self-catering accommodation in the grounds of a country house (now apartments). The cottages/apartments are fantastic, quite luxurious (and therefore quite pricey-but cheaper obviously out of season). There’s a tennis court and an outdoor play area for DC. Also an outdoor pool, though we’ve never used that as we are always out and about.

There are so many things to do for families. Pennywell Farm, steam train from Kingswear to Paignton and back, Paignton Zoo, boat rides up the River Dart. Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Salcombe are all nice to visit. Loads more that I can’t think of at the moment.

Lots of excellent restaurants in the area. We have ‘done’ all the family stuff now, and tend to spend most of our time at the fab beaches paddleboarding etc.

Typing this is making me want to go back! (We haven’t been this year).

Burgh Island for lunch. The three year old would love the sea tractor.

These look amazing.. we’re comparing prices to watergate bay and these are so much better value, that view from the deck! thank you for the suggestion

This sounds ideal, that bit less travelling than to Cornwall- we’ve probably never given Devon the attention it deserves, so this could be a good chance. Have noted all the attractions you recommend, thank you
