Evening ideas for 3 students in London please

DD (19) is off to London for a 3 night stay next week (Tuesday to Friday) with 2 friends. They have their days planned already with a mix of art galleries, museums, shopping etc. but are wondering how to spend the evenings. None of them are into pubs or clubs and all are students, so on a fairly tight budget!
I haven't lived in London for about 20 years, so not sure what to suggest! I wondered if Covent Garden still had street performers or something going on?

Any suggestions or ideas for places to go or reasonably priced places to eat very welcome!

TIA

London is very easy to figure out, all they need to do is find Piccadilly square and walk around, there are a million places to eat for all budgets and people to watch. Leicester Square, Chinatown, Soho, all worth walking through and wandering around.

Evening walk along the south bank? Start by the Globe? Walk on up to London eye? Stop for drinks or food along the way. Then walk over one of the bridges and up to Big Ben and parliament. Swing by Trafalgar Square. All weather permitting of course. And Covent Garden isn’t far either.

Yes, Covent Garden does have street performers, as does Southbank.
Lady Dinah’s cat cafe is open until 9:30
There are several bowling alleys like All Star Lanes and Bloomsbury Lanes. Plonk crazy golf is also good.
There are lots of sculptures in Leicester Square at the moment. The Lego store is fun to browse round and it’s open until 10. It’s got some massive Lego models of London and other life size figures. The huge M&M store in Leicester Square is open until 9.

Bit further out east but a visit to the boardgame cafe followed by dinner at berber &q which is next door.

Are they staying somewhere with self catering? If not, the Indian YMCA is the cheapest place I can think of:

When I lived there, I used to enjoy taking people out to Greenwich on the Thames Clippers (mooch about), get the bus to the O2 and the cable cars and back by boat once the city had lit up. I had grandparents and preteens in tow, so it might seem deadly dull.

Don't they fancy the theatre? Students can get cheap tickets by going to the TKTS box on Leicester Square or returns at the theatres themselves. Or comedy stuff in some pub theatres etc.

If it’s a nice eve, Regent’s Park is lovely. Lots of people having evening picnics, drinks etc.

Great ideas, thank you!

They do have accommodation booked and have tickets for one evening for 'The Play That Goes Wrong'. It's just that none of them know London and they were a bit stumped for ideas for their other evenings and wanted some sort of plan!

I did find the Angel Comedy Club earlier www.angelcomedy.co.uk which I've suggested to them.

The Lego and M&M store sound good as does a walk along the South Bank so I'll let them know about those too.

When DH and I used to go to London for weekends we always did one or more Walking Tours. Some of the ones we enjoyed were "Legal and Illegal London", "Jack The Ripper's London", Oscar Wilde's London, The fees are not very expensive and they are usually guided by an actor or a passionate historian. There are a few companies doing these and I can't remember the names of the ones we used. There may be information leaflets in hotel lobby. Meeting point is usually by a tube station. You will find yourself in lots of lanes and alleyways that you'd never otherwise discover. I remember LondonTown.com being a useful website

Thanks Sage, I'll have a look at those now.

Flight Club is good fun in Moorgate and there's a great pizza place next door that's very reasonable

Ooh, thanks Bodgers, have added to their list!
