Legoland, Chessington or Paulton’s Park?

The kids have an inset day coming up so, assuming the apocalypse hasn’t happened we were thinking of booking tickets to a theme park as a treat after a rather shitty year.

Kids are 3, 6 & 8.

Which theme park in the SE England would you recommend and why?

(I think they all allow you to roll tickets over to a new date in case I’d getting COVID).

My vote would be Legoland as I think it would best appeal to all 3 of your DC.

Paulton. Nice clean park, rides don't close randomly like lego land. Good for your kids ages and means you get to save the other parks with the bigger rides for when they are older. Paultons has peppa pig World, splash parks plus a dinosaur and American themed area, bigger rides available for the 6 and 8 year olds.

Caramellatteplease · 23/06/2021 20:41

How tall and thrill loving are they?

trilbydoll · 23/06/2021 20:42

Paultons Park is just the best day out. But it's a good day out at the weekend because they limit the numbers better so from the perspective of getting the most benefit from an inset day, the other two will be significantly quieter than they would be in holidays/weekends.

I much prefer Paultons to Legoland. It’s cleaner, nicer, and well maintained. Legoland was a total dump.

I think it depends on the children, whether they like thrill rides and how tall they are. We used to like Chessington at that age as there was a good mix of different rides, but it's so busy at the moment it puts us off going

MegBusset · 23/06/2021 20:46

Paultons hands down for that age. So much nicer than Legoland, and not nearly so overcrowded.

Florencenotflo · 23/06/2021 20:49

Poultons, hands down. We've done all 3. Chessington, there isn't a great deal for all 3 to do. Legoland, we went a couple of weeks ago and spent 2 days there. The queues were huge, we paid an additional £80 on the second day for the reserve and ride things to make sure Dd went on some rides. However, the splash park at Legoland is great!

Poultons is lovely, plenty to do, lots of space, also has a splash park which was lovely at the end of a hot day.

Thank you all!

For those asking they are all relatively tall - the youngest is nearing 1m (maybe even over - I need to measure) and they love thrill rides - or roller coasters at least!

We Loved our Trip to Legoland https://tiqets.tp.st/FsMa7TSl We got there nice and early at 9am in the car park and thought Wow we are one of the first few families to get there. Parked up and made our way to the Entrance and Lucky to be First in the line. We had about a 20 minute wait for the Gates to open. The Staff did a count down from 10 and Bang on 9:30am the Gates opened. My son had already decided on the first ride so we made our way down to the Laser Raiders ride. Being there early does make a great deal of difference as no queues for the rides.
